too much to hold in one space

I use the Rewind Technique to help clients worldwide gently and effectively process trauma, PTS-D, phobias, anxiety and distressing memories.

What is the Rewind Technique for Trauma?

The Rewind Technique is a gentle, non-invasive approach to resolving trauma, PTS-D, phobias, and distressing memories. It allows you to process and reframe overwhelming experiences in a way that reduces their emotional intensity — often without needing to share every detail of the event.

Sometimes described as “Sometimes described as “closure without disclosure”, the rewind technique for trauma works with the brain’s natural memory-processing systems to help file traumatic events as past rather than ongoing.

This method has been used internationally for many years, and the rewind technique for trauma works particularly well in online therapy because it is calm, contained, and client-led.

The Rewind Technique is widely used as rewind therapy for PTSD and trauma-related distress.

How the Rewind Technique for Trauma Works

In a session, you are invited to safely revisit the traumatic memory in a controlled and detached way. This helps interrupt the involuntary replay of traumatic material, reducing symptoms such as: flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, and anxiety.

You remain in control throughout. Many clients find the process less overwhelming than traditional trauma-focused approaches, particualrly when they do not want, or are not ready, to talk through the event in details.

Who it can help

  • Post-traumatic stress (PTS-D), including rewind therapy for PTSD
  • Childhood trauma (worked with in adult therapy)
  • Accident,injury or medical trauma
  • Phobias and specific fears
  • Distressing work-related or single event incidents
  • Panic triggered by particular situations or memories
  • The Rewind Technique can be especially helpful for birth trauma and other overwhelming reproductive experiences, gently reducing the emotional intensity of distressing memories without needing to describe everything in detail.

Why choose this approach

  • Gentle — no need to relive trauma in detail
  • Effective — many clients notice meaningful change within a small number of sessions
  • Flexible — well suited to online therapy
  • Empowering — you control the pace and depth of the work
“You don’t have to talk about it in detail. We work with your mind’s playback controls: calmly, safely, and at your pace.”

If this resonates, let’s have a brief chat to see if we’re a good fit.
