International Women’s Day 2026 — Give To Gain
International Women’s Day has been marked since 1911. It began as part of a labour movement — women organising for visibility, political rights, and recognition of their work. Much of that work, then as now, was unseen.
The 2026 theme, Give To Gain, invites reflection on generosity and reciprocity. When we give — our time, advocacy, resources, attention — we strengthen the conditions in which women can thrive. When women thrive, communities benefit.

Yet many women are already giving — emotionally, relationally, practically — often without pause.
The invisible labour. The holding together. The anticipating. The managing of feelings — both their own and others’.
So perhaps part of Give To Gain this year is also giving inward. Giving yourself time.
Giving yourself space.
Giving yourself permission to examine what you are carrying.
Therapy offers a different kind of space. Not a space for performance, but for reflection. A place where inherited expectations, relational patterns, identity shifts, exhaustion, resilience, anger, tenderness — all of it — can be thought about rather than simply managed.
Supporting women’s psychological wellbeing is not something I mark only once a year. It runs quietly through my work — in conversations about boundaries, autonomy, motherhood, partnership, identity, intergenerational inheritance, and belonging.

Sometimes the most meaningful act is not giving more outwardly — but giving your inner life the attention it deserves.
